Harrogate Leadership Academy provides young people in our secondary schools and colleges with the opportunity of learning essential skills such as working with and organising others, as well as communication and teamwork skills.

Sport relies on approximately 1.5 million volunteers, officials, coaches, administrators and managers.  The impact that volunteers have on sport and to the individuals themselves should never be underestimated or undervalued.

Harrogate School Sports Partnership believes that everyone has the potential to make a meaningful contribution to their local school and community, through sport, given the right opportunity and motivation to get involved, through specific Leadership and Volunteering projects.   Anyone can gain leadership skills and enjoy numerous opportunities to volunteer, no qualifications or experiences are required, so why not give it a go!

The Leadership Academy is aimed to develop all routes into sport, whether you want to develop as a Leader, Coach or Official. We can assist in mentoring young people to reach their full potential and signpost them in accessing further funding to gain qualifications that may lead to a career in sport.

Here are the Leadership, Coaching and Officiating opportunities and Volunteering programmes young people can access:
